Λάμδα (Lamda) band

DIY spirit lives long and prospers in the year 2013 (check out

making of cd cases

).

A mate of mine went and saw them over at

"Six dogs"

in Athens...not a long time ago,and introduced them to me.The lyrics are in Greek, spiced up truths for the soul that makes your head go down,up in flames though.... the most simplistic problems you come across are the most hardest to bring into solution perhaps.Crushed feelings,Black tones of spiritual decay and Society (like Vedder sings).... in a mellow though spontaneously beautiful myst of melodica that captures your ears...in one go.You know what your getting into from the titled tracks: ignorance, habitude, stupefaction, vanity, seperation, awakening, cold hands, gibbet, before the silence, silence and utopia.

The below words are spoken on the official site...on behalf of Lamda band after translation.

Λάμδα

("L") pronounced as Lamda (it's the 11th letter of the Greek alphabet) have been around as an idea since November 2010 when two of the five current band members met in order for the project to come together.Having different orientations in music genres and styles, they put the spotlight of creativity into one perception of visionary thinking ostentatiously, but they always lean on an area where all these musical influences coexist to disolve into one form. Over the next months they came together with the other three band members discovering their common concerns and every day problems, according to music and other social issues. This lead them to choose a DIY path of music production and as far as practicable and anti commercial distribution can get them into the future. The first album of L is ready and is distributed in the form of a cd in live performances or is delivered after personal contact. The creative process of this album was entirely from top to bottom made from the L band without further management.

The five members are:

Thedoros Sofopoulos

(drums),

Kostas Assimakis

(electric bass),

Vassilis Tyrannopoulos

(electric and acoustic guitar),

Kostas Kostidis

(piano,glockenspiel,vocals) and

Pantelis Nikiforos

(guitar, laouto, mandolin and vocals) .Apart from the main members there are others, who contributed most into making this project into a collective character of thinking people. So thanks to
